Education
University of Toledo - BS, Applied Physics
Experience
I hold a bachelor's degree in Applied Physics from the University of Toledo, with a minor in Renewable Energy. Presently, I am employed as a physics and chemistry tutor at the community college level. The topic I enjoy most is physics but I can also assist with basic chemistry coursework, math, and test prep. I find that physics lends itself to a lot of algebra, so I can kill two birds with one stone by having my students brush up on their algebra through doing their physics studies. I encourage my students to master the fundamentals of a subject and develop the ability to solve problems on their own. I strive to help students learn to overcome the smaller problems so they can progress and feel confident about approaching a problem without getting stressed out. Once it becomes obvious how to, and why to, manipulate equations, students tend to have a better feeling about working on various problems. When I am not working, I root for the NBA and love to spend my spare time remodeling my home.
