Education
I've recently graduated from Ohio State with a degree in Philosophy. I've completed all of OSU'S Chinese language courses at the Undergraduate level and have visited China twice, once for study abroad, and once for travel, for a total of six months spent learning there.
Experience
I've tutored all ages, from 8 years old to 40. I have experience tutoring Chinese at a basic and intermediate level. I am not a native speaker, so I can teach while understanding a student's perspective. The disadvantage of this is that I don't feel qualified to tutor Chinese at an advanced level at this point. I also have extensive experience teaching English pronunciation. I taught a Korean businessman for more than a year and helped him significantly improve his pronunciation and fluency. I've also helped a Japanese researcher with his writing assignments. I've helped students in the past develop skills to test well on the TOEFL.
