EducationCalifornia Institute of Technology - BS, Applied and Computational Mathematics
ExperienceI attended the California Institute of Technology, where I graduated with a B.S. in Applied and Computational Mathematics. I am experienced in tutoring a range of math courses, starting with elementary arithmetic to the high school level such as trigonometry and calculus. I like to teach mathematics because it gives me the opportunity to deconstruct difficult concepts and teach them in smaller, simpler chunks. By doing this, students are able to learn and apply what they have studied. I absolutely love being able to help students have their epiphany, the moment when everything they have learned makes sense. As a tutor, my objective is to help students learn how to work independently. Ultimately, I want the students to learn and understand difficult concepts without my help and guidance. When learning mathematics, students must be dedicated and creative when trying to solve a difficult problem. I teach my students to use a variety of methods to find the solution and, most importantly, to never give up.Along with mathematics, I have tutored students in college entry exam preparation. I can also assist students in writing college essays. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, watching sports, singing, and playing music. I can play the cello and the guitar.
